Giovanni Agostinelli is a Partner with Sway Ventures, where he is part of the Real Estate Tech team. Previously, Gio was partnered with Lurra Capital, a private capital investment firm focused on private equity, real estate, and venture. Based in London, Gio specializes on deal origination and management, raising capital, and structuring / executing transactions often in partnership with a broad network of co-investment partners (made up of corporates, UHNWI’s, and Multi / Single-Family Offices from around the world). Gio’s notable work within our asset class includes Virgin Hyperloop, Medicato, JUST, Epic Games, SimWin, Floww, C3 - Creating Culinary Communities, Dataminr, SpaceX, Revolut, Dawn Global, Intelas, Salido (acquired by North American Bancard), Redwood Materials, and others.

Previously Gio was Global Director of Business Development and Strategy at ThomasLloyd Group, a leading impact asset manager focused on renewables, agritech, and real estate. Working directly with the Founder and CEO, Gio was responsible for originating and managing relationships with strategic partners, product structuring and roll-outs across various markets in Europe, as well as general group and strategic oversight. The results of which helped transform the company from its original retail-investment manager posture, into an institutional investment platform with private equity / debt funds, a UK listed investment trust, and fintech wealth management products across a sophisticated investor group including IFC World Bank, the UK Government, private banks, and family offices. Prior to that, Gio was involved in residential, hospitality, and mixed-use real estate development and consulting (mainly in London and NY), starting his career at Rhône Group the transatlantic private equity fund with more than $11b under management.

Gio has also been an operator / founder having launched a startup focused on web-based homepage, password, and bookmark management. He also worked on the UK Parliamentary campaign for Zac Goldsmith (a successful effort) and spent time in mainland China investing in contemporary art. Gio is fluent in English and French and has studied in London, New York, New Hampshire, Switzerland, and Los Angeles. He graduated from Regents University in London with a degree in International Management (Hons), having also spent semesters abroad in Geneva and at UCLA.
