John McGuinness manages all of the firm's legal, regulatory and compliance matters.
John’s journey as an attorney and compliance professional spans more than 20 years in the alternative investment space, including roles at StepStone Group, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, and Linklaters LLP. His experience includes advising and representing private equity firms, venture funds, investment banks, infrastructure and real estate funds, family offices, broker dealers, high net-worth individuals and public and private companies in connection with their fundraising, investment and compliance programs. John also has experience with litigation and restructuring matters, as well as small business corporate and real estate experience, garnered when he was selected by Fried, Frank to serve as its pro bono transactional extern at the Community Development Project of the Legal Aid Society in East Harlem, New York.
John earned his B.A. from Fordham University and J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where he was an Articles Editor for The Brooklyn Law Review and a Richardson Scholar. He and his wife Kerry share three children and one Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
